![]() A recent public facilities study indicates a number of OPS school buildings are in need of physical and technical upgrades to better serve students and staff. With this need in mind, the district invited parents, staff, and members of the general public to community meetings at three locations throughout the city – on May 6, 7, and 8. The meetings focused on preliminary facility upgrade options based on building needs, as well as district and community data. We need community feedback and input to move to the next step in the facilities master plan process. The master plan will help the district align its facilities to future educational goals for students. The meetings began with a 30-minute presentation on school building needs, after which participants engaged in small, roundtable group discussions, and then completed a survey about their preferences regarding the options. If you were unable to attend one of these sessions, you still have the opportunity to provide your feedback and input. Please review the following materials that are accessible once you click 'Topic Details' below: Please note: In order to thoroughly analyze all the schools, the district was divided into three planning areas and then again into subsections within each area. Please review the document at the first link under 'Topic Details' to see what schools are included in each area plan. THE SURVEY LINKS AND WORKING OPTIONS PACKETS WILL ONLY BE POSTED THROUGH 5/16 AT 5PM.
